The Department For Education has responded to our request for a breakdown of who is involved at management level within Social Work England, the newly established regulator which will shortly be replacing The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
The response avoids answering our question directly, and mentions only that plans for SWE’s launch are ongoing, without confirming or denying that employees for the regulator have already been chosen.
We have also made a Freedom Of Information (FOI) request asking for details of the management heads at SWE. The request legally requires the DfE to provide full and frank disclosure of any management roles currently filled. We will update you once we get a response to this.
The DfE’s email response is below:

You clearly do not understand ! The “freedom of information” Act grants not only the freedom to ask for information but also the freedom for the authorities to refuse to give it !

Ian, why make such sarcastic statement and then state “I really did not you would take what I said seriously”?? Come on, you are a professional mate..

My statement was not sarcastic ! It was a way of saying that no matter what the legislation those in authority would always evade its provisions whenever it suited them. Although the Act itself does not of course contain clauses allowing evasion it might as well have done as believe me nobody will get information that those in authority wish to conceal.

Next is. If they are considering Reforming the HCPC {which is long overdue}. Are they gonna get rid of the useless old employees? If they do not, then we will have the same uncaring inhumane system.

Why are members of the current government and their civil servants so prone to dithering? No one it seems can make up their minds. All are afflicted with the push-me-pull-you syndrome that is preventing a businesslike Brexit. Now we hear that FOAs are in the same boat, with overlong bureaucratic delays preventing the implementation of legal decisions.
Reminds me of the hoops of immigration we had to jump through when we changed residence for almost ten years and needed to import our three cats into Cyprus; the paperwork was in triplicate. I enquired of the government vet, ‘Why so much paperwork?’
‘Oh we learned that from the British.’ was the laughing reply.

The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) are well past their use by date.
evidence of Social workers and other So-called professionals’ misconduct has been rejected as Not meeting the Criteria.
its long overdue giving them the boot as children have been failed by these incompetent staff.

A lot of the time they will use Sec 33 of the FOi Act to deny information.
Also Sec 30 of the Data Protection Act whereby they claim by releasing the information could cause serious harm to the physical or mental health of the requester.
its absolutely disgraceful how they can get away with using such nonsense to withhold information from a FOi.
