Welcome to another week.
As the government gets set to build a working model around best practice in social work, the question being asked by the Department Fo Education now, is what does best practice look like?
So our question this week, is just that: what examples of best practice would you like to see implemented nationwide?
I cannot think of a way to avoid repeating myself !
1:- Never take a baby or young child from law abiding parents for mere risk of future emotional harm.
2:-Never ,never threaten parents to “sign this” otherwise we go to court and you will lose your child !
3:-Never ,never stop children in care from communicating with parents by phone ,email,or text and allow them free dicussion at contact including the right to speak in their own language even if it is not English
4 :-Never demand in court the forced adoption of any child against the will of parents who make it clear in court that they want to keep their child..

Social workers who only practice Truth and Honesty.
Genuinely make shure “When all else will not do” has been properly explored.
make shure children have a voice and are not denied independent Advocacy.
Contact with parents promoted fully and transparent.
No more Lies in case files and no more Lying on Oath in Court.

Best practice should make the art of communication a priority on the list of basic training essentials that would be mandatory for gaining basic qualifications for any socila worker. Never has the art of communication been quicker or easier, yet never has it taken so long to actually speak to a real human being on the telephone after negotiating all the options.
