As 2015 comes to an end, we’re sharing Researching Reform’s annual report with you, which features our top posts, most engaged readers and more fun stats.
We were privileged to be visited by people in 170 countries this year, and sometimes the destinations surprised even us *Waves to readers in Somalia, Venezuela, South Korea and Benin.*
Our most viewed posts this year won’t come as a shock to most of our readers, however topping the list was the epic fail that was our government ministers leaving the Chamber during what was arguably the child abuse inquiry’s most important announcement. This post was viewed over 17,000 times, and shared over 4,000 times on Facebook.
The appalling revelation that a peer in the House of Lords stood by during the height of child abuse in England, and knowingly allowed defenceless children to be shipped illegally to Australia where it was common knowledge that these children were being sexually and physically abused was our second most read article of 2015. This piece has been viewed over 7,000 times and was shared over 2,000 times on Facebook.
Our third story which caused concern was the revelation that Prime Minister David Cameron and his cabinet ministers were busy trying to block the publication of important evidence which showed that the government was aware of child abuse allegations within Westminster. This news item was read over 3,000 times and made its way around Facebook, reaching over 1,000 people on the social media platform.
However, our blog would not have been able to travel the way it does without the continued support and insightful comments our readers offered this year. The top slot goes to Dana, with a whopping 339 comments – followed by Daveyone whose sharing of our content is hugely appreciated and finally, Maggie Tuttle with an impressive 246 comments, and we would love to show our appreciation to you all, so please email us your postal address if you’re happy to, so we can send you a small token of thanks 🙂
And last but not least, our busiest day – November 2nd, 2015, with almost 9,000 views.
Thank you once again for reading and sharing our content, we hope our site offers a thoughtful and engaging place to highlight important child welfare issues, and helps in some way to amplify the voice of the child for the greater good.
