In the wake of Tuesday’s Appeal Court judgment which ruled that doctors could turn off baby Charlie’s life support , Charlie’s parents now plan to appeal the decision at the Supreme Court.
It is an incredibly difficult case, in which doctors and judges have had to balance the benefits of treatment with Charlie’s life expectancy, however Researching Reform remains unconvinced that enough evidence exists to support the Court of Appeal’s decision.
We wish the parents luck with their appeal.
If you’d like to read Researching Reform’s thoughts on the case you can do so here. You can also visit the dedicated Charlie Gard website for further information and updates.

THe flipping Courts here in the UK “always” go against Family.. the parents already raised so much money to send the baby to the USA for advanced treatments.. at least give the baby “a chance”.. who knows what the outcome may be..The Courts here thinks they are above everyone in the “entire” world.

it really beggars belief that this little child is only allowed to fight for his life with the help of his parents
if the courts allow them to.
is it only me who thinks this is ludicrous and completely against Humanity.
i think they should go to the Supreme Court for one last try. if that fails then its in the hands of the Universe.
E.T technology could be his only hope. yes some may laugh but unfortunately its true.
WE have seen the Genius of those like Einstein. Leo Szilard who worked out how to cause an atomic chain reaction
leading to the most deadly weapon on Earth during WW2. we had Alan Turing the Enigma code breaker of Bletchley Park
and the list of scholars goes on yet nobody has cracked the Enigma codes of these life threatening diseases.
the Answers we seek are out there among the Stars. if only we could reach out and make contact with the code breakers
of the Universe.

This whole dreadful situation springs to mind what President Roosevelt said to his doubting staff after the attack on Pearl Harbor.
“Do not tell me it can’t be done!”

If there is such a thing then only God should ever play God.
certainly no Human should ever try to assume this Role.
