The original purpose of prisons was neither punishment nor rehabilitation .It was and still is to simply protect the public from criminals by getting them “off the street” and away from the public so they cannot repeat their criminal activities for at least a while .
Other considerations are important but secondary.
I have zero faith in government initiatives. They are never what they purport to be. Kids being abused by cults in schools produce kids who rage. Now that will be used to take them from the parents. how clever! Rule 1. Never trust government. It is pure concentrated evil!

We lurch from one crisis to another, and still we’re thirsting for Justice like shipwrecked mariners for water.
“so I guess [the guideline is] permission to be curious”
or permission to be intrusive into family life.
cant help but feel there are too many so-called experts producing reports and guidelines about one thing or another when these people are so switched off to the every day family life of the general public its worrying.
we all know what happens when you have too many Cooks fiddling with the Broth.
it would seem that normal family life is destined to suffer for decades to come as a result of the Baby P scandal.
very sad indeed.
i think what the human Race needs is less so-called experts on family life and more emphasis on the Natural world and how it works.
No such thing as Social workers and psychologists out in the Wild.
Remember “the Madness of King George”
its now become “the madness of so-called experts”

How interesting, Ian!!!
Now criminals have become fodder for the ‘people processing industry’ just as others not educated in private schools, it seems…
BUT: have you seen this Newsweek article about Britain’s elite boarding schools? http://europe.newsweek.com/britain-elite-boarding-schools-facing-explosion-abuse-allegations-267201?rm=eu
Mind the gap between abused children and adult criminals!
