Welcome to another week.
Suspicions about a senior minister have been raised at a hearing for the nation’s Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse.
Former education secretary, Michael Gove, who is now environment secretary, is alleged to have an interest in the outcome of an investigation into a priest. The priest is suspected of abuse at a well known Catholic boarding school. Gove is accused of making phone calls to the local authority involved.
The allegations were made during an Inquiry session. The Inquiry is currently conducting hearings in relation to allegations of sexual abuse by agents of the Catholic Church.
The child sex abuse inquiry will be writing to Michael Gove to ask whether he attempted to find out details about the investigation.

“He” said “Suffer the little children to come unto me” but some of these priests and devout christians do take that instruction rather too literally !………..

A bit unfair to say the least ! Iam no fan of Mr Gove who constantly calls for more adoptions;however a headline ” Senior Minister implicated in child abuse enquiry” strongly implies to the casual reader that he could well be a child abuser himself There is as far as I know not a scrap of evidence against him. ! I am surprised at this tactic from this blog …………

Hi Ian thank you for your comment. The inquiry isn’t just looking at allegations of abuse, it is also looking into alleged wrong doing surrounding those allegations. I am not suggesting that Michael Gove has been accused of abusing anyone. The inference from the piece is that there may be a personal connection between the priest and Gove.

Surely the casual reader would read on?
Should these allegations be true, the weight of the investigation may well have been tainted by a minister getting involved in an investigation that didn’t require his expertise, and children may well have suffered years of misery at the hands of this priest without Mr. Gove having given them a second thought?
It could possibly feel the same to the children he agreed should be adopted, who know’s only Mr. Gove can answer that and answer he should.

Jack the answer is in your own first words “should the allegations be true” !
Casual readers do not read on they just grasp a headline so they think “old Gove is a paedo!” I disagree with Gove violently on adoptions but I would never say he was “implicated” (the word itself implying wrongdoing) in a sex abuse case without proof that he was and that somewhere he had done something illegal or wrong.

Ian, implicated doesn’t mean guilty. It just means implicated.

Dont get me started on this man.
Gove called for even more Adoptions to take place even more quickly saying it was best for all involved. this man was Adopted as a child himself and brags about how lucky he was to be adopted and to get a top education.
He’s never mentioned if he ever contacted his birth parents. i wonder what they would think if his remarks.
this is not the sort person to have in any position of power and making decisions in the best interests of the public. very dangerous.

I sent my first (and last) Tweet when I heard about Gove pushing for more Forced Adoptions:

I just finished a blog post on extreme ‘Family Court’ cases involving allegations of Satanist Ritual Abuse (SRA):
My impressions based on 5 years research:
Authorities do whatever they like.
State representatives refuse to investigate other state representatives.
Health watchdogs protect wrongdoers and persecute whistle blowers.
I am trying to educate Psychology and Psychiatry about the ‘real world’!
