2017 was a busy year for child welfare. From consultations, to cabinet reshuffles and in depth media coverage of child protection tragedies, the UK has become more concerned with children than ever.
As always, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for following Researching Reform. A diverse and unique collective, some of our readers are activists, who have been championing the voice of the child for a long time. Many are stakeholders in parliament, child protection organisations, law firms and government bodies working with children. Most importantly, you are also families, parents, children, relatives and individuals who have experienced the family justice system first hand. We value all of your thoughts and comments, and we are deeply grateful for your continued support and engagement.
Researching Reform does not stand alone. With your help, we continue to break important child rights stories, push the government to respond to its failings regarding children and mount campaigns to improve the lives of young people in Britain. It is something we say often, but we could not provide the information we do without your generosity of spirit.
We wish you all a wonderful Christmas, and festive season, and hope that 2018 will bring you good health, adventure and much success.
With love,
Researching Reform

In the early 80s i set up and organised hostels in Hackney for the homeless people who were mostly from the care system, and although the charity as does all homeless charities receive every year running and capital costs and yet no homeless person was allowed a bed for the night unless they paid for it, nothing has changed, 2 years ago in the early hours i was filming on the streets of London the homeless people again most from the care system, I asked them why do you not stay for the night in Shelter i was told it was dirty and they could not afford to pay.
I have told Governments for 40 odd years the truth lies with the Nation, but do they listen NO and now here we are yet again winter time with adverts on TV using the homeless people to beg for money when the charities have the money, it is not only the homeless from the care system it also affects people from the prisons, some years ago many Victorian psychiatric hospitals were closed down with Governments stating we have to give people their freedom, then the hospital was used to build expensive apartments such as the one in Barnet north London.
I have seen and worked with the homeless people and i write with truth, it is about time charities were investigated.

yes Maggie i must agree.they are all up to the same old trick of collecting money from the public using the sympathy and guilt card.
Cancer Research put people on tv Ads crying and talking all about how they are so greatful they survived Cancer after treatment etc. what the Ads dont tell the public is that Cancer Research very likely had nothing to do with the treatment these people received. it was almost certainly the NHS that provided it. but the Adverts make it sound like it was Cancer research uk who saved their lives. its all wrong and as you say these charities need investigating for misleading the public and collecting funds that nobody where it goes. Just like the Family courts TRANSPARENCY is the only way forward if honesty and accountability are to be adhered to.

Just a thought for all those mothers who have been refused when asking for a chance to wish their children a merry Xmas by phone,by email or by post.Think of their distress when the “SS” refuse to forward xmas presents to children who are told their mum does not love them or want them so “don’t expect to hear from her at Xmas !” Christmas is the time of year when social workers find it easiest to alienate bewildered children from their parents by pretending that their parents want nothing to do with them ………..
It’s a sad sad world for some and a lot of cash for others profiting from the misery of distressed mums and dads………………….;

Absolutely Ian.
in relation to this issue some very interesting information has just surfaced on News channels around the world over the past 10 days. the Pentagon in the USA admitted that they have been Secretly studying UFOs sighted by Military personnel from Jet fighters etc. the Man in charge of that Unit who resigned from his position in Oct 2017 has now come forward and said the objects they have been studying are of an Advanced nature and not anything that we have. he also said the Data suggests we may not be alone.
there is more to follow in 2018. if it turns out to be true that Advanced Extraterrestrials are here watching us and if we can make contact with them it could change everything. the implications could be truly Mind blowing.
