The Legal Aid Agency have recently issued some guidelines on accessing legal aid for victims of domestic violence and abuse.
You can access the guidelines here.
The guidelines explain what kind of evidence can be produced, (you now need to show such evidence if you wish to claim for legal aid support), how you can go about getting that evidence and what to do once you have it.
For information on legal aid generally, please see the following:

These instructions never tell you of the reality! What they should tell you are the statistical outcomes after court hearings! Very different story!
What the point of legal aid when all members of a family cannot get it?
That if care proceedings are taken out you, the family will lose their child because of bias against families!
Any monies paid by grandparents will be wasted. You may as well just rip up the £ thousands! Better still open a savings accounts and put the money in there for when the kids leave care, rater than line the pockets of Shylocks!
In private law better to make own arrangements too, feuding parents are very much desired!
You really will be taken to the cleaners if your dirty laundry is aired in court!

It says you don’t have to pay for legal aid if it concerns children in care. Does that mean it’s free for appeals or change of circumstances or contact? Anyone know?
