The latest child welfare items that should be right on your radar:
- Victims of domestic abuse find no haven in family courts (US)
- Ruling in Mother and Baby Home court cases pushed back until January (Ireland)
- Black children, the care system and youth custody (Britain)

Regarding domestic abuse – the theory of parental alienation is now so deeply embedded in social work that it doesn’t even need to be mentioned. It was automatically assumed that the domestic abuse I suffered was something I made up – almost as though I hadn’t been deeply ashamed to admit to being a DV victim in the first place. Almost as though I hadn’t already left my violent partner – re-housed on the ground of ‘fleeing domestic violence’ with the help of the same local authority who then proceeded to place my child with the perpetrator. And there were some very dirty tricks- like the social worker telling me I should move away from the father for my child’s safety then telling the court I was planning to move away from the child’s father so clearly I wouldn’t be able to promote contact so he should have custody. Personally, I believe that the unharmed children of DV victims are simply ‘easy targets’ for social workers.

The scandal of the Tuam mother and baby home should hopefully send out massive shock waves across the country that will in theory spill over into revealing the same scandal of wrongful removal of children in England. The scandal is so huge that the Govt simply dont even want to look at it. I wonder why !
