Researching Reform 
Social services themselves condemn the care system when they continually argue in the family courts that mothers who were brought up in care themselves and knew no parents were as a result not fit to bring up their own children.
Certainly I agree that mothers (and fathers) who were brought up in care without knowing their parents suffer a lot of emotional harm but surely the reulting stigma should not be enough to disqualify them from having children of their own??
Do “the State and those the State puts in charge” really say “we bring up children in our care so badly they are as a result unfit ever after to have families of their own?
