The government has launched a consultation asking for peoples’ thoughts on the draft statutory guidance for the Domestic Abuse Act 2021.

The Home Office’s consultation would like help clarifying the definition of domestic abuse, firming up best practice in addressing domestic abuse and ensuring abuse is effectively detected.

The government would like to hear from several groups including victims and users of support and prevention services; community and faith groups; services for forms of violence against women and girls including any specialist domestic abuse services; legal, education, social care and health care sectors; and local authorities.

The consultation closes at 11.45 pm on 14 September 2021.
