The latest child welfare items that should be right on your radar:
- Surrogacy snaps the mother-baby bond in two – we should not celebrate it as progress
- Forced adoption scandal: Experts fear health time bomb for thousands of hidden victims (Scotland)
- Open consultation: Domestic abuse support within safe accommodation: statutory guidance and regulations consultation
- Children’s social care survey results published
Regarding Forced Adoption aren’t we continuing to make moral judgements on mother’s today? Taking away their children should be the last resort but it seems to be the first.
Profits made in taking children from their homes is obscene. Helping families earlier is simply not profitable in the short term or that would be the policy. Why are children not being returned when mothers have gone through hoops to get them back? Why are all family members excluded from the child’s life when taken into care? Why are the children not reintroduced to their families when they become 18 years old?

I still believe the “Inter-agency adoption fees” are the culprit behind most if not all forced adoptions. they claim those fees are used when dealing with multiple agencies to set up a suitable placement but i dont buy it. £27k for adopting one baby is big money and i believe a number of people in the chain are being payed for their corrupt services.

The Handmaids Tale is based on the novel by Margaret Atwood & set in a dystopian future is about forced surrogacy which is a little too close to forced adoption. Art imitating life?

The true story of Philomena Lea is a very good film to watch starring Judie Dench and Steve Coogan.

“FORCED ADOPTION SCANDAL”
“Documents released under Freedom of Information show ministers were advised not to apologise to mothers forced to give up their babies, and to avoid the issue when meeting with campaigners in 2015.”
This may be about historic forced adoptions but it cant hide the fact that it carried on and is still happening today. the only change is that they no longer use the excuse of Unmarried mothers to remove babies and instead its Unfit mothers.
Those Ministers should be Sacked for going along with that disgraceful advice not to apologize and to avoid the issue.
