Welcome to another week.
With children back at school while a new spike in Coronavirus cases builds, our question this week, is just this:
Do you think Ofsted should be prioritising care home inspections to ensure children in state run homes are not falling ill?

Absolutely they should and not only to check children’s physical health but as importantly their mental health, emotional well-being and safeguarding

Absolutely. But not only the physical helps but also their mental health and emotional well-being. Not least to ensure that they are being safeguarded and well cared for too.

No, there is already a Reg. 44 inspector and a management / staff structure who know the children very well, If they can’t identify sickness in children and the children don’t have the confidence to tell a carer or their social worker that they feel unwell then there are problems way, way beyond the scope of the [lack 0f] knowledge of anyone from Ofsted.
I’ve never seen such an asinine suggestion and am a former Residential Manager and Reg. 33 inspector.
