Nadhim Zahawi has been replaced as Under Secretary for Children and Families in a government shakeup which follows Boris Johnson’s election as UK Prime Minister.
The new Children’s Minister is Kemi Badenoch, and she is the MP for Saffron Walden.
Kemi has been a member of Parliament for two years and backed Michael Gove’s recent Conservative leadership bid. She was a member of the London Assembly, the body which monitors the Mayor of London’s activities, and was a member of the London Assembly at the tail-end of Boris Johnson’s tenure as Mayor of London.
She has a background in IT and finance, which could mean that there may be a strong focus on big data and AI being implemented across the family justice system.
Her voting record in Parliament tells us that she voted for less central government funding for local authorities, and declined to vote on same-sex marriage and lifting the abortion ban in Northern Ireland.
While working at the Department for Education, Kemi will be overseeing several areas including special educational needs, safeguarding in schools, disadvantaged children, and social mobility.
Gavin Williamson is the new education secretary.
Oh dear! Judging by her stance on voting she appears rigid in her views. Not a good look!
She is a numbers cruncher. I don’t see her as an ally to families. I hope I’m proved wrong.

she backed Michael Gove.
he was a supporter of more Adoptions and speeding up the process to fast track them through along with Timpson.
I vote no confidence in this one.

Re E### N####### – S##### DOB ##.##.[edited], NHS Number ########## and [edited].
Dear Sir or Madam,
As the maligned and only surviving biological parent, I ask that my rights to be copied into all investigations regarding the present state of maladministration (s) , are implicated with immediate effect.
To this end there needs to be a stepping up to the mark of a far superior level of administration controls and measures.
While the wheels are wildly coming off of all that is decent and honest, there can only be perception of immense suffering of a little girl who needs her Daddy and the support of his close family in order to come to terms with the complications that have befell her at the behest of out of control social workers and a system that is going to hell on a handcart.
It seems well documented and systemic reasoning is being flung out , where there is clear indications of all the wrong directions being taken.
Where oh where has there been even the flimsiest of forward planning in proper formal consent of creating the considerable upheavals of a already fragile small female child , in grief for her poor mother, and the complications sending her such a distance away would cause?
I insist and demand there is a handle put on matters and that steps immediately are implicated to ensure every possible care is being taken for this situation , starting with her being allowed to freely write to her massively concerned family , here in Great Britain , her birthplace.
