The government has just announced that it will carry out a series of inspections on public bodies working with neglected children.
The inspections which will start in May this year, aim to assess how effectively organisations like local authorities, police and probation services work together to help and protect children aged between 7 and 15, the age group considered to be most at risk of neglect, abuse and exploitation.
There will be 6 inspections, which from May until December will focus on children’s experiences at the hands of these organisations. Findings highlighting what works and what needs to be improved will be published when all six inspections are complete.
A further overview report will then be published to offer guidance on good practice in this area.
An initial series of inspections were carried out in January 2016 which looked at children at risk of sexual exploitation, and those who went missing from school or care.
We hope the latest round of inspections reveal the deep dysfunction amongst these organisations who continue to work against, rather than with, each other. There is still an enormous amount of mistrust between agencies like the police and the local authority, which often has serious consequences for the children in their care.
We’ll keep you up to date with any developments.

local authorities need a thorough overhaul in regard to ALL child support.. They are so arrogant their doors and minds are shut to new education and they act like tin gods in their ivory towers. Read the Alan Wood report about his recommendations

I agree about the arrogance of local authorities and am delighted that a long overdue investigation of their handling of child-neglect cases is to be set in place.

Anyone has contact details for the Body? I hope this is not just another showpiece to impress the public and then nothing transpires. I gave up years ago. I know I will “never” see/speak to my vulnerable son again even though I did “nothing” wrong apart from being a dedicated “Father”.

This sounds like they will be wanting to speak with the children themselves.
i wonder if parents can contact this body to tell them about their vulnerable children who have been kept away from them and not allowed to have a voice outside of LA control.

This will be more meetings all going no where, just look at the years the victims of abuse has all gone no where, its all the same as Munby he suggested many things to help the kids and to open the family courts but he was a front man doing as he was told to say now he will soon be retiring then what some one else will take over with more talks going no where, governments do not need to talk all the time they know the truth from 100s of years of the child abuse for this reason i have always said CHILDREN SCREAMING TO BE HEARD, all remember the British kids in care and the ones yet to be stolen are a multi billion pound industry, and them in government what do they know apart from their degrees from university. i have always said to know truth get out there and witness it and that is exactly what i have done for more then 40 years with no pay, so more meetings more money and sod the kids,

IF CHILDREN REPORT ABUSE BY A SOCIAL WORKER OR BY A MEMBER OF THE FOSTER FAMILY IT GETS HUSHED UP AND IGNORED EVERY TIME!

i would also say this is the case.
Children in care do not have a voice with anyone else outside the LA circle of controllers. Especially if there has been fowl play during an Adoption drive where they have lied to the child about why they can no longer go to contact. the LA will then move to covering it up.
that means no outside sources will be allowed to speak to the child about their feelings etc and the schools are told not to answer any questions from the parents.
its not that different to how the Nazis controlled Auschwitz.
The big difference is, they got hanged for crimes against Humanity.

i agree with you, and not so long ago i was in Spain i met seperatly 2 retired teachers of a young age who both told me kids from care dissapear from the schools and the heads are not allowed to ask where are the children, amazing 2 different teachers both saying the same things also stating we took early retirement because of what is happening to kids in care who go missing and the schools are told nothing, these 2 ex teachers were not friends or knew each other, if only i could write all i know but it would go nowhere, the truth has been out there for 100s of years and more so but what do governments do set up meetings and more meetings so that we the plebs think governments will bring out the truth and the Nation thinks OH the truth will be told just as Sir Munby was put in power to change the system what crap, and yesterday driving along listening to Smooth Radio an add came on for foster carers and if you give your name there will be a three thousand pounds up front so what does that tell you all. So yes Hitler left a legacy and slaves number 2 the kids

Jack Straw and Tony Blair also have a lot to answer to, the gagging orders on kids in carE who are not allowed to report abuse, so when they leave the system and try to report its WHERE IS YOUR EVIDENCE AND YOU ARE OUT OF TIME,OR THE ABUSERS ARE DEAD OR HAVE ALZHIMERS BUT DON,T FORGET THE INSURANCE COMPANY THAT INSURES ALL KIDS IN CARE TONY BLAIR IS PART OF IT
