Child Rights

This Summer, the University of Geneva is hosting a Summer School for university students and young professionals interested in children’s rights and organisations which are dedicated towards protecting them. The course has been produced by The Centre for Children’s Rights Studies, in collaboration with the International Institute for the Rights of the Child.

The Summer School runs from 6th June until 17th June, 2016, and will focus on:

  • The interplay between theory and practice in the field of children’s rights,
  • The international perspective promoted by the lecturers from different regions of the world and;
  • Field visits to several UN Agencies, international humanitarian organisations and NGOs, located in Geneva

Tuition fees start at 1800 CHF for early birds registering before March 1st, 2016 and 2000 CHF for all those registering no later than May 1st, 2016. Accommodation is not provided but the University offers a helpful guide on where children can stay. The sessions are taught in English.

If you would like more information, check out their Q&A page, or get in touch with the university.

We think this is a fantastic idea, and well worth looking into.

Very many thanks to Professor Joan Durrant for sharing this item with us.
