This just in.
Two conferences next year, focusing on child protection have already been organised, and hope to be ground breaking events through their use of technology to connect survivors and victims around the world.
The first conference will be held in London on Saturday 23rd April, 2016 from 10am until 5pm and will be hosted at the Resource for London Centre. It hopes to give a voice to children who have been abused. Several panel members have already been confirmed, however there is still room for more guest speakers, and the event would be keen to hear from judges, MPs, barristers, policy makers, teachers, journalists, social workers, police and survivors of abuse, as well. If you would like to get involved, please click the link above and then click on the ‘contact the organiser’ link on the Eventbrite page.
The second conference will take place in Glasgow, on Thursday 5th May 2016, from 10am-6pm, at Lanark. This conference will also focus on the Voice of the Child and those who were sexually abused as children, but will also highlight a movement known as Craig’s Law – a proposal to make it mandatory law that Care Service Providers require a minimum of two carers to be on duty particularly during night times to protect both the clients against abuse, and the carers against false accusations or harm from hard to handle clients. This conference is also looking for more guest speakers, so if you would like to participate, please click on the link at the top of this paragraph and then click on the ‘contact the organiser’ link.
Both conferences aim to offer pathways to protect children from abuse through the promotion of their emotional, physical and social wellbeing.
If you would like to attend either of these conferences, please click on the links above. Tickets are free.
Big thank you to DadsHouse CEO, the super lovely William McGranaghan for sharing the conferences with us.
