Morning Natasha, stepparents in the UK have the rights to see a child in care and yet grandparents do not, apart from the odd one, it is time that Cameron and others who keep going oh in the media about family life could answer the question of WHY grandparents are excluded from the kids in care.
Maggie, Extended family are supposed to be allowed!
I wonder how many parents and grandparents are told they cannot see the child because the child doesn’t want to see them. Of course the child does not speak directly to the parents/grandparents to tell them but this information is “relayed” by a social worker.
In this digital age there should be proof that is really the childs wish because we could be forgiven for thinking it’s a standard ploy of social workers to stop contact!
Look at all the disclosures via Freedom of Information. If people have to pay it will mean that information is only availiable only for those who can afford to pay for it! Is that not discrimination!
