For our column over at Jordans this month, we chose to check in with key inquiries and investigations into child sexual abuse taking place in England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, Northern Ireland and Jersey to see what progress, if any, they had made.
The probes have been grouped into those dealing with abuse itself, the handling of abuse allegations by government and other non state institutions, and overarching inquiries tasked with looking at both elements.
As probes go, these are fascinating. Each is in some way connected to the other and as a result, some individuals’ names come up frequently, in more than one investigation and venue where abuse took place.
Whilst some arrests and convictions have been made, there is clearly still much to be done.
