The Australian inquiry into institutional child sexual abuse is well underway and their incredibly efficient and easy to navigate website holds a great deal of information already and continues to be regularly updated (yes, that is a dig at our paltry effort here).
The Royal Commission has just released ten stories which were highlighted in a hearing in March, in which the Commission looked at preventing child sexual abuse in out-of-home care and responding to allegations of child sexual abuse occurring in out-of-home care.
The names of the individuals involved have been changed, but the stories are a must-read, both for how this kind of abuse affects children and how child protection continues to fail children.

Natasha, I dont have to read of the the abuse as in the links although I did have a quick read but I know what happens to them, I do blame a lot of women who bring different men into their lifes and the kids suffer and it is time that there was more controle over foster carers and stepfathers as far as I am aware step fathers are not checked although recently a s/w who is new working in the system and from Africa, he did say stepfathers were checked, so god knows what planet he is from or on, and when you think about it who reads the bed time stories to the kids gives them hugs tell them they are loved no one that i have ever interviewed from the system said they had any thing such as love, when I set up the hostels in Hackney and I still do it now I hug the homeless, and in the 80s I use to have to go to the local baths to be deloused before i could collect my son from school but to hug the people from the care was all they wanted was love can you imagine Cameron or the rest of them showing affection to the poor kids with no love in care NO none of them would
in this link is Ben from the care system who was abused and left on the streets he writes his own songs and sings to buy food, what a lovley young man, and at the end of the video you will hear a lady from the care system saying because you care, Ben will now be going into the recording studios to record the song and to become the voice by his music for the children screaming to be heard, but it will it change any thing, I would like to see those families who are able to work with the foster carers to give the love to the kids I would also like to see, FAMILIES WRITING STORIES FOR THEIR KIDS IN CARE, STORY BOOKS, at least it would help the kids to know they are still loved even if the parents cannot cope with them, we have to find a way to give love and to show love to the kids and they must be able to speak out and be listened to, because from the kids here lies the truth as I and you well know.
