The outcry over UK child protection services’ handling of cases involving Slovak children and children from other parts of the world has spanned three years, and has by and large been met with silence by the British justice system and its judiciary.

That silence has now come to an end. This month, Sir James Munby, President of the Family Division and Lady Justice Black will be amongst a group of speakers set to attend the Slovak Embassy, which is hosting a Round Table on Child Protection.

Slovakia’s overt criticisms of child welfare practices here in the UK, and strong threats by Slovakia’s Ministry of Justice have no doubt contributed to the pressure the President now feels to address the concerns over forced adoption and the way foreign families in the UK are being treated.

The event which starts at 4.30pm and finishes at 8pm, will be taking place on Thursday 14th May, at the Slovak Republic’s Embassy in London.
