“Religious Power: Risk and Regulation”

We are delighted to announce an upcoming debate in the House of Commons on human rights and religious power, within the context of child sexual abuse and radicalisation. The meeting will take place on Tuesday 18th November, in The House of Commons.

Hosted by the Hindu Muslim Forum, this event will examine religious authority, its regulation and the extent to which that regulation has failed to safeguard against human rights breaches in the UK, and internationally.

The Forum welcomes Sir Mark Hedley; Rabbi Jonathan Romain; The Rt Rev Dr Peter Forster, Bishop of Chester, Dr Muhammad Al-Hussaini, and Mark Greenwood, as panel members for this event.

You can check out the development of this debate on the Forum’s website.

The debate is an open event, which means that anyone can come along, so if you would like to attend, please call Natasha on 07769 647 983, or visit our Eventbrite page to reserve a seat.

We hope you’ll be able to join us – it should be a lively and thought-provoking evening.
