As The Bill starts to make its way to the finish line at Westminster, it gets involved in a little game of Ping Pong. This is where The Bill moves backwards and forwards between the House of Lords and the House of Commons until both Houses agree on the final text for the Bill.
This particular game of Ping Pong took place yesterday and you can catch the transcript here.
The next step for the Bill will be to move it forward for Royal Assent.
Parliament’s website tells us:
“There is no set time period between the consideration of amendments to the Bill and Royal Assent – it can even be a matter of minutes after Ping Pong is complete.”
We’ll keep you posted.
