We’ve been a little busy making mischief for other people over the last few days, which has meant less time to post thoughts on current affairs in family matters, but these news items and articles on the use and abuse of the internet by paedophiles caught our attention, so we thought we’d post them up:
- Children as young as eight targeted by paedophiles online: some children have resorted to self harm and suicide as a result. It’s an important issue, so we’re adding some interesting research below, predictably from our progressive friends in Australia…
- Paedophile Internet Activity (Ford & Patterson November 1998 – as early as that…)
- Child Abuse and The Internet (Stanley, 2001)
- Protecting Your Children On-Line – A Parent’s guide (By one of our favourite charities, Child Quest International)
- Protecting Yourself On-Line – A Guide for Teens (Child Quest International)
- Protecting Yourself On-Line – This one’s for Tweens, or children between the ages of 8-14… (Child Quest International)
IF I were a paedophile I would try to get a job in a children’s home or as a fosterer and alas that is exactly what they do ! Why is that more attractive to them than working say in a school? Because a pupil reporting abuse to the head or to a health visitor will get listened to and the alleged offending teacher immediately suspended;A child in care is FORBIDDEN to tell visiting parents of abuse suffered in care and contact is stopped immediately if the subject is broached. If a child in care manages to contact the police their reply is that “this is a matter for the social worker” who may even in fact be the alleged abuser ! Police still ignore all reports of abuse from children in care unless they invove a celebrity (preferably a dead one!)
When police stop delegating their duties to social workers the UK world will be a much better place !

The most comprehensive file on the subject is presumable the Paedofile compiled by blogger John Ward who has studied the subject for over six years. http://hat4uk.wordpress.com/the-paedofile/

Cyber-blackmailers ‘abusing hundreds of UK children’
“Hundreds of British children are being blackmailed into performing sex acts online, the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre has warned.
Abusers posing online as children talk victims into sexual acts or sharing of images, then threaten to send pictures to the child’s family and friends”
As in all things “tip of the iceberg!

FA is right. If one is that way inclined you would go to the source, but let us not forget the others who don’t have to – those is high places who get someone else to procure them.
However, the government is now handing the kids over in fostering and forced adoption to potential abusers! The assessments done on fosterers and adopters mean nothing! Rather like the CRBs they are but a moment in time. Some people have done dreadful things and have never been caught and therefore have no convictions.
Professor Jane Ireland was tasked to assess the experts who make assessments on parents. She found that 90% of the assessments, were carried out by “Career Court Experts,” those not in practice but making a living purely from social services, making assessments of parents/grandparents. The assesments in the main were found to be flawed in one way or another. Experts are funded by the local authority, so it would be impossible to be impartial knowing unless you agreed with the local authority you would find your work from them dried up. So why is the practice continuing?
Social workers do the assessments for fosterers and adopters so why don’t they use the experts? The children are passed over to them and some have been known to abuse the kids (but that is found out generally when they have left care). What assessments are done on care home staff?
I would like to know what questions are asked of potential fosters and adopters because when I did a “what do they know request” I asked one LA, do they ask them if they are in debt or if they gamble? I was informed no! So when social workers assess potential fosters and adopters and don’t ask basic questions and then don’t attempt to verify them, what is the point of doing an assessment at all?

Funny that for quite a while social workers have been asked to use social media to put the record strait of any misconceptions the public may have about what they do.
Well I’m a member of the public and my perception of what they do is wrong unjustifiable!
The response from social workers? The silence is deafening!

Thank you for this article. David. For my part, I think it’s important to approach these things without hatred, but the author’s understanding of the psychology behind this behaviour is limited. Paedophilia has not yet been linked to any kind of disorder, and literature in this field tells us that this behaviour is voluntary, rather than induced by a malfunction. It also has no known ‘cure’, largely due to the fact that the behaviour itself is indeed voluntary. Perhaps one day though, we will think differently about paedophilia and find a way to protect children from this terrible crime.

Sad to say we are sinking into a mire of “political correctness” and worse still “diversity” ! I reckon the time will come in the UK when laws will be passed to make consensual sex with children legal and even to be admired. The climate will be such that anyone like myself who insults a paedophile for what they do will be arrested! All in the name of “diversity” of course !My only consolation is that as I am 82 I am unlikely to live long enough to see it happen !

Well, our government is already hoping to make it legal to tap into all our phone and internet communications looks set to become law, so why not? Interestingly, much of what could an evolution to a full blown Nazi state, where our government has total control and cares little about life on the ground may be set in motion with incremental decisions like these. I just hope I’m wrong.

I find it very disconcerting that the government will have access to everything about you. What about our privacy! The government already interferes in family life too much. They are supposed to serve the people not spy on them! Whatever they decide to do with the information will not bode well for the people. I’m getting shades of Orwell!

The goverment URGENTLY needs to know everything about you and your children in particular.
This reform will at last give our leading political paedophiles the information and the access they need for the grooming of suitable young boys and girls; The only way to ensure that our rulers enjoy continuing sexual satisfaction ! Needs they just have to satisfy to function properly .Why should anyone dare to oppose their just demands?
