Another announcement this week comes in the form of Stephen Cobb QC being appointed a justice of the high court, upon the retirement of Mr Justice Hedley, and will sit in the Family Division, listening to family law-related cases.

Stephen Cobb has acted as Chairman for the Family Law Bar Association and has been a deputy high court judge in the Family Division, since 2009. He specialises in law relating to children and is actively involved in trying to address the issues raised by the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012 (LASPO).
Stephen will take up his new position on the 11th January 2013, at the same time as the incoming new President of the Family Division, Lord Justice Munby.
