Here at Researching Reform, we are massive fans of Roald Dahl and when we went to the Cambridge theatre to watch the Royal Shakespeare Company’s adaptation of the magic Matilda, we knew we were watching something special – we even said so, in our Random Review.
And we’re not the only ones. The play has gone on to make theatrical history by scoring no less than SEVEN Olivier Awards, including the Matilda actresses, Eleanor Worthington Cox, ten, Cleo Demetriou, ten, Kerry Ingram, 12, and Sophia Kiely, also 12, who jointly won the accolade for best actress in a musical and our personal favourite, Bertie Carvel, who won Best Actor for his achingly brilliant performance as Miss Trunchbull.
On behalf of our global team here at Researching Reform, *cough*, we would like to say, hip, hip, hooray!!!!!! A much deserved award spectacular and bravo, bravo, bravo!!!!!!
