Good day and golly, the sun is shining so we hope you’re not reading our blog, but if you are, we have a very interesting news story in the form of grounds for divorce for you. (And we don’t think this is an April Fool’s article, even if the premise for the divorce below seems a little over the top, but who knows…..)
Although the story was being reported as early as yesterday in India, the Daily Mail have taken it on this morning with a headline that reads, “Private Affairs Come Out in Divorce Courts” and focuses on a case in the Delhi High Court in which the court granted a divorce on the grounds that sex was being withheld over a period of time.
The article goes on to say, “Marriage without sex is an anathema. Sex is the foundation of marriage and without vigorous and harmonious sexual activity it would be impossible for any marriage to continue for long,’ the court said in its judgment, also citing an earlier case.”
So, what do you think? Is sex the foundation of a marriage or is it over-rated?
Possible answer: The answer may well vary depending on gender and age of the person and also on the number of years a man or woman have been married. Personally, we feel sex is important and should continue to feature as a regular aspect of a marriage throughout one’s life time, as long as that is possible 🙂
