We assume no-one noticed that we forgot to do our weekly Question It! this week, which falls on a Monday usually, but in our defense (now that we have confessed) our Lorecast at the beginning of the week with the charming John Bolch of Family Lore quite distracted us. If you listen to these podcasts, you will no doubt be familiar with his honeyed larynx. No judge in the land could dispute that.
So, our question for all conundrum cogitaters everywhere is….
The government says it needs until 2015 to consider changing the law in relation to same-sex marriage and then may do so, only after it has completed a consultation due to start in March next year. Do we really need to take this long to consider this issue?
Possible answer: Of course not! the law as it stands is clearly in breach of several fundamental human rights Articles and legitimising same-sex marriages would not require a huge shift in the law or procedure to implement.
